Chaos

Well as far as these things go, it isn't real chaos. But the shootings at VTech were quite disturbing to hear about. Also that Chicago has the worst postal system of the country's major cities. At work our servers have been down for 5 days. NOT good for a federal building.

So now it is back up and we are dealing with the repercussions. My wife, who calls me morbid, was watching the news footage of the shooting last night. I went to bed early.

I have a solution for the postal service. They say their carriers are not invested in their jobs because many of them are temps. They probably don't get paid enough or the long term jobs are not available. Instead of raising postage for the average sap sending a x-mas card to granny, raise the rate of bulk mail only. Stop the stupid junk mail. Give discounts for non-profits, and fuck the credit card companies, and Macy's and fuckers who send out conservative "newsletters". If you raise the bulk rate, two things will happen: less junk mail, and more revenue to pay full time permanent mail carriers. Duh.

I am thinking good thoughts toward the families of those who were killed and injured at VTech, and wishing we knew why the guy did it.
